The Bushy Park Show is one of the oldest shows in Australia, having first been established in 1865 as a garden show it has evolved into an enjoyable, relaxing day out for the family.
The show features wood chopping and equestrian sporting events as well as traditional cattle and sheep showing competitions including handler events.
Over the last few years the highlight of our show has been our demonstration program- in particular looking at showcasing skills from a bygone era. Demonstrations have included: making green-wood furniture, cooking with local produce, herbal teas, basketmaking, spinning and weaving, blacksmithing , old tools, heritage trees, etc. Each year we have different demonstrators attending, as well as some of our local favourites.
Our free entertainment for the day includes all our competitions- wood chopping and animal comps in particular, but also live music; and the Sands Family Circus have been a feature of the last few years.
And finally, there are always plenty of trade sites to browse and food and drinks to be had.
Join us on the 3rd Saturday in February for the Bushy Park Show.
